Editorial stock photo archive of the 2010-2015 editions of the 'Manayunk Wall' bike race. Each first week of June riders and spectators take over the streets and hills of NorthWest Philadelphia. The race has picked up a few names over its nearly three decades of history. The Philadelphia International Cycling Classic is also know as 'Manayunk Wall' bike race. In February 2013 it was announced that the editions of 2013 and 2014 will be held under the name "Parx Casino Philly Cycling Classic" and will use an alternative route but will include the 'Wall'. Philadelphia, PA, USA - December 21, 2014; Each year a group cycling enthusiasts converge on a junkyard in North Philadelphia to race each other on dirt paths winding between junk cars at the annual Bilenky Cyclocross event. Participants race on all sorts of bikes, including homemade "funnies," over a course that takes them under, over and around vehicles parked on the junkyard. The venue is between the railroad tracks and the bicycle factory of Bilenky Cycle Works in North Philadelphia. Annual Bilenky Junkyard Cyclocross & SSCXWC '13 Qualifier rounds - North Philadelphia, PA USA - December 7, 2013; Cycling enthusiast came out for the annual Bilenky Junkyard Cyclocross event in North Philadelphia on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013. Partly inspired by traditional Belgian cyclocross folk festivals that happen in the winter season, the Junkyard Cross adds an American twist with the backdrop of abandoned trucks, vans and sedans. Spectators, often with a beer in hand, find vantage points on top of the roofs, trunks and hoods. The 2013 single speed cyclocross world cup championship (SSCXWC13) is held at the Belmont Plateau in West Philadelphia. As part of the course riders had to climb a steep gravel path. Alongside this climb spectators cheered and pushed, sometimes even pulled the contesters uphill. The first snow of the season left up to ten inches on the course.
